
Her concience cried "For this you'll pay me!

"Run, run, run" cried the voice inside....

So she took the arm of the first beautiful stranger that came along...
Tried a new tune but her heart kept singing all the old songs...

So the lady sailed for Europe leaving sincerity at the docks.
Then spent her night in theatres drinking bourbon on the rocks
in the Green Room - with an actor, who would flatter and distract her
but inside she must have known
he only boosted up her ego and left her feeling less alone...
Soon the whole damned show became less tempting
and all the bottles along all the bars stood empty.
She thought about the life-style she'd been tasting
and all the loving, lying words that she'd been wasting
and knew she must return where she began
to learn to live with her love for someone else's man....
